CAVE TUBING AT Nohoch Che'en

Belize Cave Tubing Tours

Overview

Cave tubing at the Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve is an extraordinary adventure that combines relaxation with breathtaking scenery and fascinating history. The excitement builds as we set off on a leisurely 45-minute hike along a flat jungle trail, surrounded by towering trees, vibrant flora, and the sounds of the rainforest. At the end of our hike, we reach the entrance to one of the many cave passages that make up the extensive Nohoch Che’en cave system. Picture yourself floating down a gentle river that winds through the ancient underworld of Belize, meandering in a prehistoric cave adorned with crystal formations and relics of the Maya civilization. Your knowledgeable guide will share the fascinating geological and cultural history of the area. Formed by the relentless forces of water and time. We hop off our tubes and then take some time to explore a large chamber found inside the cave. After exploring, some visitors like to jump off the short cliff edges and plunge back into the refreshing water. We then board our tube and relax as we are carried back downriver near the parking lot where we started.

Our adventure starts with a scenic drive along the Western Highway, approximately one hour from San Ignacio. As we journey deeper into the Belizean countryside, the lush landscape hints at the natural wonders that await. After about 1 hour and 30 minutes on a well-paved road, we arrive at the Nohoch Che’en Archaeological Reserve, a site known not only for its incredible cave systems but also for its rich cultural significance.

Upon arrival, we gear up for the adventure with helmets, waterproof headlamps, and our trusty river tubes.
